Wang Qiang continuously breaks through boundaries, enabling the "going global" of automated equipment

2022-09-27

For Wang Qiang, whether in life or work, he has never been greedy for "security." Breaking out of his comfort zone has become a habit he can't quit for many years. For nearly ten years, the two keywords "innovation" and "breaking the circle" have been closely associated with Wang Qiang, who has just passed the age of 30. This also highly coincides with the business philosophy of Beijing Reje Automation Co., Ltd. (referred to as Reje Automation), which mentions "innovation leading the direction."

For Wang Qiang, whether in life or work, he has never been enamored with "security." Breaking out of his comfort zone has become a habit he can't quit for many years. For nearly ten years, the two keywords "innovation" and "breaking the circle" have been inseparable from Wang Qiang, who has just passed his thirties. This also highly coincides with the business philosophy of Beijing Reje Automation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Reje Automation), which mentions "innovation leading the direction." "Our goal is to become the leading domestic semiconductor automation company, and then enter the international market with domestical-produced semiconductor automation equipment." Wang Qiang, the current deputy general manager of technology at Reje Automation, told reporters that the technology in his hands is the confidence of his and Reje Automation's ambitions, and the ability to innovate gives them the courage to be extraordinary.

Ten years ago, Wang Qiang, fresh from Beijing Information Science and Technology University, entered a world-renowned research and manufacturing company of pneumatic and automation components with a "mechanical dream." His position matched his university major in mechanical design and manufacturing automation. After a short adaptation period, Wang Qiang gradually found his position in technology, management, and business, participating in many automation improvement projects in his first year. For many newcomers, such achievements are already remarkable, but Wang Qiang had his own thoughts. "My career planning is very clear. I won't stop pursuing my career because of the mature work environment. I need to find a platform that allows me to fully utilize my imagination and turn that imagination into reality." That year, Wang Qiang was only 25 years old, a time when he could soar to great heights.

So, in an interview in 2015, Wang Qiang became a member of Reje Automation. As he wished, he embarked on a new and exciting journey. Wang Qiang, who broke out of his comfort zone for the first time in his career, did not expect that he would create glory for himself, the company, and even the industry in this "small company." Reje Automation may not have expected that this young man would soon become a business ace of the company with his superb technology and outstanding innovative spirit, becoming a "master" in the eyes of many employees.

Participant: An Explorer Who Fears No Difficulty

Wang Qiang's love for Reje Automation has never diminished over time, and this seems to have been destined from the beginning. "Reje Automation was very 'young' at that time, which gave me the opportunity to deeply participate in the company's construction." Wang Qiang said he was lucky, and such an opportunity arose two months after he joined. At that time, the company undertook a System project related to semiconductors. However, this project posed a huge challenge to Reje Automation. "First, the site resources were relatively scarce, and the semiconductor project's requirements for site cleanliness were even higher than those of an operating room; second, and most importantly, there were no successful cases of similar projects in China." Wang Qiang recalled that Reje Automation undertook the project under these unfavorable conditions, taking great risks. Fortunately, they had "people." Wang Qiang and a group of colleagues of similar age, with the spirit of young people who are not afraid of tigers, launched an assault on this "high ground." Without successful cases, they consulted foreign technical literature and learned from industry standards, finally overcoming one difficulty after another; without ready-made sites, they searched everywhere, and finally found an ideal site. "We signed an agreement with the client specifying the usage period, and were required to complete the project within 4 months. Although there were various setbacks along the way, we delivered the product in 3.5 months." Wang Qiang told reporters. "Becoming famous overnight" is an apt description of Wang Qiang and his colleagues during this period.

  Reformer: An Unwavering Heart

This year, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area's strengthening of innovation-driven development to promote the high-quality development of technology companies has yielded fruitful results. Eight "small giant" enterprises were included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's list of enterprises supported for high-quality development, and Reje Automation is among them. In less than ten years, the development speed of Reje Automation has surprised many industry peers. In order to support the rapid development of the company, Wang Qiang is also constantly adjusting his position. From a technical backbone to a manager, the exponential growth of personnel and the rapid expansion of the market size are the biggest challenges he faces. How to make the right people play the right role in the right position is a topic he has been studying. Therefore, while learning from others, Wang Qiang once again boldly innovated, from the subdivision of departments, to personnel adjustments, and the establishment of basic infrastructure; from setting goals, to improving the assessment mechanism, and to instilling the concept. In this process, Wang Qiang has always emphasized one point, which is that "the team needs growth-oriented talents." "I often say that if you feel that your work has been easy and smooth recently, then it means that you have reached a time for reform. Only reform can lead to progress, only reform can lead to innovation, otherwise you will inevitably be eliminated one day." Wang Qiang said that there is no comfort zone in any department in his team. Only by constantly breaking through the circle can we make progress.

In order to prevent employees in his team from falling behind, Wang Qiang is happy to share his experience with his colleagues and has been trying to build a public "technology shelf." "With the help of the Internet, I put intangible 'goods' such as experience on a virtual shelf similar to a warehouse, displaying their existence through digital labels to help employees in need access them as needed." According to Wang Qiang, he has cultivated more than 50 semiconductor technical talents for the company, improving the technical level of technical personnel and their comprehensive ability to analyze and solve problems related to equipment structure and operation, helping the company to develop rapidly and steadily.

"Currently, the competitors in the same field are mainly overseas companies." From Wang Qiang's words, it is not difficult to hear that Reje Automation's goal of "becoming the leading domestic semiconductor automation company and then entering the international market with domestically produced semiconductor automation equipment" has been 50% completed. Next, Reje Automation, which continues to break through the circle, will impact the overseas market and compete with international leaders in a broader market.
